Ongoing Workshop and Education Efforts

January 2019

By

Carl Clark

Excellence in any endeavor requires a combination of talent, skills, knowledge and abilities.

As ALT works on plans to grow and expand its programs, we need to be sure we have people with these traits to help meet programming, production, administrative, support and technical needs.

To that end, we are developing plans for education efforts on every aspect of ALT's complex operations from tools to tech, front-of-house to fly loft, make-up to costuming, stage hand to stage managing, getting-into-character to directing or producing a show.

Two such sessions are scheduled in the near future. The first, on Saturday, January 26, will be "Behind the Curtain:  Basics of Theater Backstage," led by Carl Clark.  The second workshop, taught by Dell McLain on Sunday, February 3, will relate to decision making for directors and wannabe directors.  A second scene painting workshop will likely be presented by Corey King in the next few months.  Watch your email and Facebook for information on such Stage Skill Sessions.

Additionally, we continue the Performing Arts Education sessions in cooperation with the Goddard Center.  On Saturday, January 19, Wendy Berry will lead a session for 6-12 year olds, "Acting Games for Kids."

Please, tell us it there are specific subjects you'd like to learn through workshops or classes to enhance your talent, skills, knowledge and abilities.

Also let us know if you have the interest, experience and expertise to teach a workshop on any relevant topic.  And let us know if you would like to help plan and coordinate ALT's education programs..
