Pushed to the boiling point by their boss, three female co-
workers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical,
lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. They conspire to
take control of their company and learn there's nothing they
can't do -- even in a man's world. Set in the late 1970s, 9 TO 5:

VIOLET NEWSTEAD– Attractive, strong, ambitious woman. Stands up for what she believes in. Head secretary. She is a widow and a single mother of a teenage son Josh. Alto Belt
DORALEE RHODES– Sexy and stacked country girl from Texas. Hart’s personal secretary. Married to Dwayne. Soprano Belt.
JUDY BERNLY– Attractive, insecure, at first afraid of being on her own but later becomes empowered and strong. Husband just left her for his secretary. Soprano Belt
ROZ KEITH – The office kiss-up and second to the boss, has an unrequited love for her boss and will do anything to win his approval. Low Alto
FRANKLIN HART – Arrogant, self-absorbed, male chauvinist corporate 70s boss. Is capable of a surface, smarmy charm. High Baritone
MISSY – Hart’s wife. Fluttery and ditzy. Female Ensemble
JOE – The cute, young, office accountant. He’s smitten with VIOLET. High Baritone and part of Male Ensemble
DICK – Judy’s soon-to-be ex-husband. Average middle-aged guy, sporting a little less hair and a little more paunch than he did ten years ago. Speaking Role
DWAYNE – Doralee’s husband, very supportive of Doralee. Tenor
JOSH – Violet’s teenage son. Speaking role
MARGARET – any age. Secretary. The office lush.
MARIA - Perky secretary. part of Female ensemble
KATHY - secretary. Harried mother of four. Part of Female Ensemble
BOB ENRIGHT - Hart’s yes man and locker room buddy. Part of Male Ensemble
TINSWORTHY - Corporate Boss of Consolidated Companies. Gives impression of being a member of the “good ole boys club” but actually is an equal opportunity employer. Part of Male Ensemble
Other small speaking parts will be filled by members of the Male and Female Ensemble.
